Weight Loss
Almost any diet will work if the participant is mentally strong enough to follow through and not give into failure. To succeed you need to overcome the mental obstacles that are standing in your way. Here's how to do it:
Mix hypnosis and motivation by:
- Listening to your motivation package in the morning before the day starts and get your mind in gear to make it through the day without giving in to temptation.
- Listen to weight loss tracks during your "down time" during the day to keep yourself on course. Visualize success.
- Use hypnosis in the evening when you are winding down so you can start fresh with a new beginning in the morning.
- Take notice of colors. Colors are used in supermarkets and fast food joints to invoke our emotions and cause us to spend our money there. Red is used because it stands out. It also causes our adrenaline to start up and makes the heart beat faster. Blue is used as a trust symbol because blue invokes trust ("true blue"), green makes us think of fresh. Wherever you go, be aware that colors and symbols are all around you, used by those trying to induce you to partake of more of what they are selling.
- Take small steps and set a series of small goals rather than one very big and unrealistic one.
- Visualize a new you. Every night before you go to sleep, you should lie in your bed with your eyes closed and picture your body looking the way you want it to. There is a tremendous amount of research that supports the belief that your mind and positive thinking can make a major impact on your success in the realm of weight loss.
- Cold temperatures will make your metabolism work harder to keep your body warm which means more calories burned. Use this trick as a kick starter.
- Cut food into small pieces so it SEEMS like more. Research shows your eyes want to see (or at least the illusion of) large portion sizes.
- This
is a great tip. Learn to use high calorie foods as the FLAVORING AGENT
in a recipe rather than the main ingredient. Here's an example: We all
like fried chicken, but we know that it is not good for us, right?
Rather than gorging yourself on fried chicken breasts and thighs (or
perhaps worse), depriving yourself altogether, make a fried chicken
salad by cutting up the hot chicken into small pieces and toss a few of
them into a bowl of romaine lettuce and add dressing. You just cut out
hundreds of calories and you can still enjoy the flavor of chicken.
Another great trick. Did you ever notice that you eat far less when you feel sick? Well, you do not want to induce sickness, but you can replicate the feeling sometimes by taking a cough drop or a sip of couch medicine when you feel really hungry and you know that you shouldn't eat. This can quell your cravings. - Feel extremely hungry, but don't want to eat? Take a nap. Think about how you feel when you wake up after going to bed very hungry. Often you don't feel hungry at all when you get up. This is because when you are asleep your body is burning fat, your very own natural energy store, and it might just be satisfied with that.
